Mild tremors were felt in several parts of North India and Pakistan after an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 on the Richter Scale struck Ladakh’s Kargil on Monday afternoon.

The earthquake, at a depth of 10 km, struck at 3.48 pm on Monday.

Just a few moments later, another earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter Scale, occurred in the same region.

The second quake also struck at a depth of 10 km at around 4.01 pm.

The tremors were felt in several parts of North India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Tremors were also felt in some parts of Pakistan.
