A Jaipur-bound Air India Express flight from Dubai witnessed a serious case of in-flight misconduct on Saturday when a male passenger allegedly misbehaved with a female cabin crew member after consuming alcohol, sources confirmed to ANI.
The incident reportedly took place during the flight while the crew was carrying out their duties. Upon arrival at Jaipur International Airport, the cabin crew immediately alerted airport security about the incident. Following this, a formal complaint was filed by the airline with the local police.
“The airline has submitted a formal complaint. The matter is under investigation by the relevant authorities,” a source familiar with the incident said. The identity of the accused passenger and the specifics of the misconduct have not been disclosed as the inquiry is ongoing.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on the same day, Air India confirmed that an unruly passenger caused a disturbance onboard flight AI454 from Amritsar to Delhi. According to the airline, the disruptive behaviour occurred during cabin preparations for landing. A cabin crew member observed a verbal altercation between two passengers, with one accusing the other of being abusive.
Acting swiftly, the crew relocated the affected passenger to a business-class seat to defuse the situation. The pilot informed security officials on the ground at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where the accused was handed over for further investigation upon landing.
“Air India maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behaviour and prioritises the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew,” the airline said in a statement, adding that it would cooperate fully with the relevant authorities.
Both incidents come amid growing concerns about passenger conduct on Indian flights. As per Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines, airlines must investigate such cases and may place the offending individuals on the national no-fly list following a review by an internal committee.
