The Delhi-NCR region witnessed a powerful thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain and strong gusts of wind. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) alerted citizens via social media, stating that the storm was moving swiftly at a speed ranging from 50 to 70 km/h.
IMD’s forecast extended the warning to cover not only Delhi but also surrounding areas including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad.

In response to the imminent threat, IMD took to X (formerly Twitter) to share precautionary measures. Their advisory urged residents to stay indoors, shut windows and doors, and avoid unnecessary travel. They emphasized the importance of seeking safe shelters and cautioned against seeking refuge under trees.”
