While addressing the BJP workers, PM Narendra Modi said that he bow his head in gratitude in front of the people of Delhi for giving BJP a chance to govern.

Key highlights of PM Modi’s speech:

  • “Yamuna Maiya ki Jai,” says Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he begins his address at the party headquarters in Delhi.
  • “Today’s victory is truly historic—far from an ordinary win. The people of Delhi have decisively ousted the ‘AAP-da’ and reclaimed their city. Delhi now stands liberated. The mandate is crystal clear—this is a triumph of development, vision, and trust. Today, the forces of chaos, arrogance, and deception that had gripped Delhi have been overcome. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every BJP worker and supporter who made this victory possible.”
  • “Delhi is like mini Hindustan. There is a rich diversity in the national capital.”
  • “Today the people of Delhi have made it clear. The real owner of Delhi is only the people of Delhi. Those who thought of being the owners of Delhi have been confronted with the truth. • “The lotus has bloomed in every corner of Delhi—there isn’t a single area left untouched. People from all linguistic and cultural backgrounds have placed their trust in the BJP. Throughout this election, I proudly introduced myself as an MP from Purvanchal, and the love and support I have received from the people of Purvanchal have been truly overwhelming. As their representative, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to them for their unwavering faith and support.”
  • “Our Delhi is not just a city, it is a mini India. Delhi lives the idea of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’…Wherever I went in this election, I used to say with pride that I am an MP from Purvanchal. The people of Purvanchal gave love, trust, new energy, new strength. Therefore, as an MP from Purvanchal, I especially thank the people of Purvanchal.”

Earlier today, PM Modi lauded the party’s leaders and workers, calling the victory a win for development and good governance. The elections proved to be a massive setback for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), with key figures including Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj suffering defeats at the polls.

What fueled BJP’s resurgence?

The BJP’s sweeping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections once again sheds light on Narendra Modi’s enduring popularity as an electoral powerhouse. Despite initial challenges—such as local leadership struggles and AAP’s early campaign momentum—BJP’s well-calibrated strategy ultimately turned the tide.

The party successfully capitalised on Modi’s appeal while conducting targeted outreach through small meetings to engage diverse voter groups, IE reported. Additionally, BJP assured voters that popular welfare schemes, such as free bus rides, would continue.

Nadda congratulates workers on ‘historical’ victory

In his address to the BJP workers at the headquarters, party president JP Nadda thanked PM Modi for the Delhi win. “I would also like to thank all the party workers who went door-to-door and worked to ensure that the party wins,” Nadda said. He went on to praise Modi for delivering on his promises and reiterated that “Modi ki Guarantee is an assurance of guarantee getting fulfilled”. He alleged that AAP did not deliver on its promises of cleanliness and education.

At the same time, the party tapped into middle-class concerns, focusing on key issues like pollution, governance and city infrastructure. This multi-pronged approach proved crucial in disrupting AAP’s decade-long dominance in Delhi.
