Who are the five Congress candidates leading in Bihar?

Congress Leading Candidates in Bihar Election 2025: Congress has been faring poorly in the Bihar Election 2025, with five candidates leading in the Bihar assembly election, which was conducted in two phases on November 6 and November 11. As the voting is underway in Bihar, here are the candidates who have been faring well in the election and may win seats for Congress.  

1- Md Qamrul Hoda

Md Qamrul Hoda is one of the candidates on a Congress ticket who is leading in the Bihar elections. He contested from the Kishanganj constituency, and he won the constituency by over 89,669 votes.  

Hoda has studied up to Class 10 and lists Agriculture and Social Work as his professions. According to his election affidavit, he has total assets worth Rs 3 crore and liabilities of Rs 48.5 lakh. His annual declared income is Rs 16 lakh, and he has no pending criminal cases.

2- Manohar Prasad Singh

Manohar Prasad Singh is the second candidate from the Congress party who is leading in the Bihar election. He is the sitting MLA of the Manihari constituency and is eyeing another win. At present, he is leading by over 2,500 votes. 

3- Abidur Rahman

Abidur Rahman is leading from the Araria constituency. He was first elected as a member of the Bihar Assembly constituency in 2015. Currently, he is leading by over 11,000 votes.

4- Abhishek Ranjan

Abhishek Ranjan, who is contesting from the Chanpatia constituency, is currently leading with a margin of over 800 votes. According to MyNeta, he has completed his Master’s in Economics and has no criminal cases against him.

5- Surendra Prasad

Surendra Prasad, who is contesting from the Valmiki Nagar constituency, is leading with a margin of over 3,000 votes. Prasad is 59 years old and has an educational qualification of 12th Pass, according to India Today.

6- Manoj Biswas

Manoj Bishwas of the Indian National Congress (INC) won the Forbesganj constituency with narrow margin of 221 votes. Bishwas defeated the incumbent BJP candidate Vidya Sagar Keshari to mark his victory and put an end to Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) consistent hold on the seat since 2010. A 38-year-old politician, Bishwas has declared total assets worth approximately ₹1.5 Crore, including both movable and immovable assets and holds a BA in political science from Bhagalpur University.
