A committee has been formed to investigate the deadly blast at the ordnance factory in Bhandara district in Maharashtra, which claimed the lives of eight workers and left five others injured.

Officials said the inquiry, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Labour (Central) Nagpur, will begin on January 27.

The blast occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Friday at the LTPE (Low Temperature Plastic Explosives) building number 23 in the HEX (High Energy Explosives) sub-division of the factory, located in Jawahar Nagar, Bhandara.

A senior official confirmed that 13 workers were in the building when the explosion took place. The blast was so intense that it completely destroyed the building.

In response to the incident, the Ordnance Factory Bhandara has set up its own investigation team to determine the cause of the blast.

The five injured workers were taken to the hospital, and the authorities are continuing to assess the situation.
