People in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr were taken aback on Wednesday, May 29, morning when they saw a 10-feet-long crocodile on the Narora Barrage. The enormous lizard kept trying to leap back into the Ganga River, which was running below, as if it had somehow left its natural home. The crocodile attempted to scale a railing but was unable to return to the river by jumping. It crawled on land until forest workers saved it.
Witnesses captured the incident on camera, which they then posted online. Social media is ablaze with videos showing the crocodile attempting to climb the barrage’s fencing and crawling on land when it was unable to jump back into the river.
The video, which has gone viral, begins with the lizard clinging to the railings and peeping out. It tries to maintain equilibrium as it propels itself into the water. The crocodile then succeeded in crawling across the ground. It took slow steps to move on the raised space near the railings. It reportedly suffered injuries whilst attempting to scale the Narora Barrage fence. According to the footage, people congregated there after noticing the crocodile roaming outside the water.
The forest department and police were informed by the people, and they promptly came to capture the crocodile. The crocodile was captured by forest officials who attempted to restrain it from assaulting the rescue party by tying its limbs and covering its head with a cloth.
Videos demonstrate that minutes later, ropes were brought in to tie its legs. Another forest official wrapped a length of rope around the crocodile’s hind legs while the other four held onto the ropes that kept its head and front legs in place.
After a few hours, the crocodile was saved and put back into the canal, according to officials.
