Mohammed Siraj conjured a magical spell of seam and swing bowling with magnificent figures of 6 for 21 as India crushed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to lift the Asia Cup title after a gap of five years. German climate activists sprayed orange paint onto Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate on Sunday morning to urge the German government to take more urgent action against climate change. Army jawan killed in ‘accidental firing’ in JK’s Bandipora

The “accidental discharge” of a weapon within a camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district resulted in the death of one Army jawan and the injury of another, according to authorities. The event has been investigated, according to police, and the proper legal action has been taken.

World Court to hear Russian objections to Ukraine genocide case

Russia and Ukraine will square off before the International Court of Justice on Monday in a case that centres around claims by Moscow that its invasion of Ukraine was done to prevent genocide. Ukraine brought the case to the United Nations’ highest court just days after the Russian invasion on Feb. 24 last year. Kyiv argues Russia is abusing international law by saying the invasion was justified to prevent an alleged genocide in eastern Ukraine. HP highway closed due to landslide, reopens after 10 days

Due to a large number of landslides in Himachal Pradesh, the government had blocked National Highway 5 which has now opened up after atleast 10 days of restriction. The blocked highway had drastically reduced apple transportation in the state. (READ MORE)

CM Khattar flags off cyclothon for ‘drug-free Haryana’ campaign in Sirsa

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal campaigned against the flow of drugs in the state with the help of the central government. The campaign is named “Cyclothon for a Drug-Free Haryana”. As per the announcement, every Tuesday government officials are asked to use only bicycles for travelling.

PM Modi launches Rs 13,000-crore ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme for traditional workers

On the occasion of “Vishwakarma Jayanti,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the “PM Vishwakarma” program on Sunday. Under this program, traditional craftsmen and artisans, including weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, laundry workers, and barbers would receive credit assistance worth Rs. 13,000 crore at a low interest rate without the requirement for collateral.

J-K: Anantnag operation enters fifth day

The operation to flush out terrorists hiding in Gadole forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district entered the fifth day on Sunday as security forces widened the area of operation to neighbouring villages and fired several mortar shells towards the forest, officials said. Security forces are using drones and helicopters for surveillance of the dense forest area where terrorists are believed to be holed up since Wednesday after killing two Army officers and a deputy superintendent of police in the initial exchange of fire, the officials said. RS chairman hoists national flag at new Parliament building

The national flag was raised at the new Parliament building by Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. He raised the flag atop the “Gaja Dwar” of the new Parliament building, flanked by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The hoisting ceremony occurs the day before the start of Monday’s five-day Parliament session, during which it’s possible that the location of legislative activities will change from the old building to the nearby new one.
