All workers normal, can go home: AIIMS-Rishikesh

The AIIMS-Rishikesh on Thursday declared all 41 workers who were evacuated from Silkyara tunnel fit to return home. Briefing the media here on their health condition, Dr Ravikant said the workers were thoroughly examined and their blood test, X-ray, and ECG reports were normal.

5 dead after suspected consumption of contaminated ayurvedic syrup in Gujarat

At least five persons have died and two hospitalised over the last two days after suspected consumption of a contaminated ayurvedic syrup containing methyl alcohol in Gujarat’s Kheda district, police said. Preliminary probe revealed that the ayurvedic syrup, branded as ‘Kalmeghasav – Asava Arishta’, was sold over the counter to nearly 50 people by a shopkeeper in Bilodara village near Nadiad town of Kheda district.

Blast at Gujarat chemical plant kills seven, injures 24

A storage tank blast killed seven people and injured 24 at a plant of Indian specialty chemicals maker Aether Industries in the western port city of Surat, police said on Thursday. The cause of the explosion early on Wednesday has yet to be determined, said city fire official Omprakash Mishra, although a fire it started had been put out. (Reuters)

Hostel fire kills 13 people in Kazakhstan -authorities

Thirteen people died in a fire at a hostel in Kazakhstan’s biggest city, Almaty, on Thursday, the city’s emergencies department said in a statement.
