“Uttarkashi rescue operation in final stage”: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Delhi airport to cross 70 mn passenger traffic in FY24: DIAL

China offers visa-free entry for citizens of France, Germany, Italy

China will temporarily exempt citizens from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia from needing visas when visiting the world’s second-largest economy in a fresh move to spur post-pandemic tourism. From Dec. 1 this year to Nov. 30, 2024, citizens from those countries entering China for business, tourism, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends, or transiting for no more than 15 days will not need a visa, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday. Violent clashes break out in Dublin after knife attack

Violent clashes broke out in central Dublin on Thursday evening, with vehicles torched and riot police attacked, after a 5-year-old girl was seriously injured in a knife attack earlier in the day that also saw a woman and two other young children hospitalized. Irish police said the girl was receiving emergency medical treatment in a Dublin hospital following the attack outside a school. Soon after that announcement, at least 100 people took to the streets, some armed with metal bars and covering their faces. Police said over 400 officers including many in riot gear, were deployed in Dublin city centre to contain the unrest. (AP)

Cold wave hits Kashmir, Srinagar records 0.9 deg C

The mercury rose above freezing point at most places in Kashmir last night as residents got respite from cold and fog, officials said on Friday. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 0.9 degrees Celsius, the officials said. They said the minimum temperature stayed above freezing point in the city for the first time in five days. (PTI)
