Mamata to meet PM Modi on Dec 20 over release of financial dues
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on December 20 to seek release of financial dues to the state, a top official said on Tuesday. Kerala waste management rules, one year imprisonment
Violation of waste management rules will now attract a maximum fine of Rs 50,000 and imprisonment of up to one year under the laws amended as part of the ongoing garbage-free Kerala campaign. Minister for Local Self-Governments M B Rajesh on Monday said according to the Kerala Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023, and Kerala Municipality (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023, promulgated last week, if the violators fail to pay the fine it will be added to public tax arrears.

Stamp Duty Bill passed in Belagavi Karnataka Assembly Winter Session
The Karnataka Stamp Amendment Bill, 2023 was passed in the Winter Session at Belagavi to raise stamp duty and mobilize financial resources. Revenue Minister Krishnabyre Gowda has responded that only 10 per cent of the income is from stamps in the registration department. He clarified that he has decided to revise it along with measures to prevent leakage. The Bill was passed on Monday.
