Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested absconding accused Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, who was absconding since Sunday, ANI reported.

He was arrested from Shahpur in Thane three days after he went missing and will be brought to the Worli police station.

Mihir Shah was allegedly driving the BMW car that fatally knocked down and dragged a woman, Kaveri Nakhwa (45), on the bonnet for at least 2 km. The accident also left Kaveri’s husband Pradeep injured while the couple was on their two-wheeler in Mumbai’s Worli area early on Sunday morning.

Mihir Shah, the son of a Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) functionary, had gone into hiding following the incident.

After the accident, Mihir’s father and his driver were arrested. Police did not specify the charges against the duo, but sources said they had been arrested for allegedly helping Mihir after the accident.
