Facing criticism from all corners of the society and the media the state government of Bihar finally files it’s appeal before the apex court of the country challenging Patna High Court’s order of bail to hardened criminal Mohammad Shahbuddin.
Shahabuddin was released on September 9 after completing a jail term of 11 years on the twin murder case of Satish Raj and Girish Raj in September 2004. Earlier Prashant Bhushan had also challanged the bail order of Patna High Court.

Speaking to television channel India Today Mohammad Shahabuddin said, “I have come out on court order and will go back to jail if the court so wishes”, said Shahabuddin reacting to Bihar government’s appeal in Supreme Court. He went on to say that, ” I don’t have any problem in anyone calling me ‘Don’ but the definition of ‘don’ should be cleared at the begining.”
On being asked whether he still feels that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is not an able leader, Mohammad Shahabuddin said that,”I have nothing to say on Nitish Kumar, Laluji is the RJD chief and I belong from RJD, so it is Laluji who is my legitimate and able leader.”
