The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a long power cut across more than 100 areas of Bengaluru on June 29 and 30 because of essential maintenance at several substations. Residents have been alerted to prepare for the outage that will last for 7 hours from 10 am to 5 pm for two days.

According to the official statement, Malleshwaram, Vijaynagar, Peenya, Seshasdripuram, and Yeshwanthpur are the places that will be impacted. BESCOM has notified that the outage is necessary to conduct upgrades like RMU servicing, cable replacement, trimming of trees, and preventive infrastructure review.

The aim behind the shutdown is also to target the 66/11 kV substations to strengthen the distribution network and to ensure long-term dependability.

These measures are part of a broader plan to ensure a continuous supply during the festive and monsoon seasons.

BESCOM scheduled maintenance plan

In addition to the city areas, places like Bengaluru Rural, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Ramanagara, and Tumakuru will also be affected. BESCOM has also informed that it is a planned shutdown and not an emergency condition. The process is being held in phases at multiple stations.

Localities that come under the North, South, East, and West BESCOM zones have also been named in the list.
