The details of the Bengaluru murder wherein a doctor killed his dermatologist wife, seems to be from a movie script as it continues to shock readers and probe officials. Dr Mahendra Reddy GS allegedly killed his wife Dr Kruthika M Reddy in April this year, and after murdering her, he reportedly proposed to 4-5 women.

And in the terrifying proposal, he allegedly mentioned killing his wife. “I killed my wife for you,” Dr Mahendra Reddy GS wrote in the message that he sent to several women over payment app PhonePe, reported India Today.

The message was sent not to one or two but several women in a desperate attempt to connect with them that the accused made after killing his wife. The details came out when the cops retrieved data from his seized phone and laptop that were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis. Officials said it was Mahendra’s attempt to reach out to his previous relationship partners.

The case that shook Bengaluru

Mahendra married Dr Kruthika M Reddy last year in May and less than a year later, he allegedly administered her an anaesthetic drug, ultimately leading to her death. In April this year, the victim collapsed at her father’s house where she had been staying due to some health issues.

According to police, reports said, Mahendra reportedly visited her and administered her with intravenous injections over two days, claiming it was part of her treatment. When taken to hospital, Krithika was declared dead there.

The cops registered an Unnatural Death Report, as it appeared natural. However, later Kruthika’s sister, Dr Nikitha M Reddy, sought a detailed probe and six months later, FSL report confirmed the presence of Propofol in multiple organs. This established that the victim was being given this anaesthetic drug that led to her death.

The case was then modified as murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, and Mahendra was arrested from Manipal, Udupi last month. The drug, Propofol, is reportedly restricted to be used only in the operation theatres.

Mahendra’s deceptive moves

After killing her, Mahendra allegedly made certain bizarre moves including approaching the women. He, months before the crime in 2023, was reportedly in touch with a Mumbai-based woman and even faked his own death to gain her attention, according to Moneycontrol.

He later admitted to lying this September, and allegedly proposed to her for marriage. The woman, cops said, is not linked to the crime and further probe is underway.
