Bengaluru Bandh: A state-wide bandh has been announced in Karnataka for September 26, 2023. The bandh has been declared in protest over Tamil Nadu’s release of 5000 cubic seconds of Cauvery river water.

Schools and colleges are to be under effect due to bandh and shall remain closed. Students have been advised to wait for an official notification in regards to the holiday.

Pro-Kannada groups have declared a Bengaluru-Bandh in protest against the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu from dams within the state. These organizations are urging educational institutions and private entities to show their support by participating in this statewide shutdown.

For students and parents, it is recommended to stay connected with their respective schools and teachers to stay informed about school closures. Furthermore, parents are encouraged to rely solely on official announcements regarding the bandh.

Previously, on September 11, 2023, a bandh took place which resulted in the non-functioning of over 10 lakh private vehicles and corporate buses, organized by the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Associations. During this period, some schools chose to remain closed.
