Ram Mandir inauguration: The Pran Pratishtha ceremony for Ram Lalla’s idol is slated to take place on January 22, with the rituals kicking off on January 16, Tuesday. The temple will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The specific time for the ceremony hasn’t been announced yet. However, the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla within the temple is scheduled between 12:15 pm and 12:45 pm.

Darshan timings

The temple will be open for darshan (prayers) from 7.00 am in the morning to 11:30 am and in the afternoon hours from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Aarti timings

Three aarti will take place each day at 6.30 am, 12.00 noon, and 7.30 pm, respectively. Passes will be required for the aarti ceremonies and will be available online or at the temple.

  • 6.30 am – Shringar/Jagaran Aarti
  • 12.00 pm – Bhog Aarti
  • 7.30 pm – Sandhya Aarti Schedule of the rituals

The Temple Trust has outlined a seven-day schedule of rituals and events, with its preparations fully in swing.

On January 16, there will be a darshan atonement ceremony. Special prayers and a purification ritual for the idols of Ram Lalla and Sita Mata called “Dashvidh Snan” will be carried out during the start of the day.

Pran Pratishtha will begin on January 17. The formal consecration ceremony will start with the arrival of the idols in a grand procession called ‘Nishan Yatra’. Ganesh Ambika Puja, Varun Puja, Matrika Puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu Pujan are scheduled for January 18.

January 19 will witness Agni Sthapana, Navagraha Sthapana, and Havan. On January 20, the sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) will undergo thorough cleansing with holy water from the Saryu River in a ritual known as ‘Abhishek’.

On January 21, Ram Lalla and Sita Mata idols will receive a divine bath with 125 urns of holy water in a ceremony called ‘Shayadhivas’. Following the holy bath, the idols will be adorned with precious ornaments and sacred clothes in a ritual called ‘Abhisekam and Shringar’.

On January 22, the culmination of the seven-day event will take place with the idols being placed in the sanctum sanctorum during the auspicious Mrigashira Nakshatra. After the consecration, devotees will be allowed darshan of Ram Lalla and Sita Mata through designated darshan lines.

Over one lakh devotees are expected in Ayodhya on January 22 for the Ram Mandir’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’.
