Vaibhav Gehlot, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Monday in connection with the alleged foreign exchange rules violation case.
The investigative agency summoned Vaibhav Gehlot to appear before its investigating officer at the APJ Abdul Kalam Road headquarters, under the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

The summons came days after ED conducted raids on Rajasthan-based hospitality group Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd, as well as Vardha Enterprises Pvt Ltd, and their directors and promoters, including Shiv Shankar Sharma and Rattan Kant Sharma, among others.
During a three-day operation in August, the agency conducted searches at various locations in Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi. Rattan Kant Sharma’s purported connections with Vaibhav Gehlot have piqued the interest of the ED. The agency is currently interrogating him and will record his statement under FEMA.

The ED is expected to question Vaibhav Gehlot regarding his purported connections with Rattan Kant Sharma. Sharma was previously associated with Vaibhav Gehlot as a business partner in a car rental company, PTI reported.
Both Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Congress party have labelled the ED’s actions as politically motivated.
