Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Election Results 2025 Live Updates: The results of Arunachal Pradesh civic elections will be declared today as the state election commission takes up the counting for 186 zilla parishad constituencies, 1947 gram panchayat seats, 16 Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) wards and eight Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC).
The voting for these wards was held on Monday. According to the official data, a voter turnout of nearly 75 per cent was recorded in the panchayat polls in Arunachal Pradesh.
How many wards, local bodies went to polls?
Repolling was also held on Thursday (Dec 18) in select polling stations due to reported disturbances. These included the Nongkhon gram panchayat segment in Namsai district, Nisangjang/Besai gram panchayat in Bichom, multiple gram panchayat constituencies in Tirap and the Rotom polling station in Kamle.
The northeast state currently has 27 Zilla Parishads with 245 constituencies and 2,103 Gram Panchayats comprising 8,181 constituencies. The Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) has 20 wards, while the Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) comprises eight wards.
BJP wins many seats unopposed
The ruling BJP has already won 58 zilla parishad constituencies unopposed, while the National People’s Party (NPP) secured one seat. Four BJP candidates were also elected unopposed to the IMC.
Altogether, 440 candidates were contesting for 186 zilla parishad seats, while 39 were in the fray for 16 IMC wards and 21 for eight wards of the Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC).

For those who have joined us now, here's a look at what has happened so far in Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) elections:
- The ruling BJP scored a commanding win in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation elections, securing 14 of the 20 wards
- BJP candidates posted comfortable victories across multiple wards. Gigi Rena won Ward 18 by 695 votes, Likha Nari Tadar took Ward 16 with a margin of 676 votes, and Lokam Sikio claimed Ward 1 by 534 votes. The party also saw candidates elected unopposed from Wards 4, 6, 7 and 19
- The Nationalist Congress Party finished as the second-largest party in the civic body, winning three wards. Its most emphatic result came in Ward 11, where Gora Lotak registered the highest margin of victory at 818 votes. The party also secured Wards 9 and 12
- The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) won two wards, while independent candidate Yaro Nayam edged out a narrow victory in Ward 3 by just 27 votes

Fifteen arrests were made on Wednesday, bringing the total to 17, including two taken into custody on the day of the initial polling.
