The registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra 2025 has begun. The Yatra is expected to commence on July 25 this year and continue till August 19. The registration for the Yatra has to be done in advance, which can be done both online and offline. Only 15000 pilgrims are allowed to participate in the Yatra per day. This is to ensure their safety and security. Hence, to avoid any last moment hurry, people are advised to register early to avoid any discrepancies.

The registration for this year’s Amarnath Yatra began on April 14. The registration process has to be completed beforehand with all the mandatory documents. The last date to register is August 9, 2025.
Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration Process
The online registration can be done by following these steps:
- Go to the official Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) website and click on the Advance Registration Link.
- Read all the guidelines carefully, along with the do’s and don’ts. After reading all the guidelines, click “I Agree” and proceed further by clicking “Register.”
- Moving further, fill in the personal details along with a passport-size photo. Also upload the scanned copy of the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) and the ID proof.
- Then you’ll receive an OTP to your registered mobile number for verification.
- Later, a payment link will be sent within two hours to pay the registration fee.
- Once payment is done, you can download your official Yatra Registration Permit from the portal.
Steps for offline registration:
- Collect a token slip from the designated centers set up by the Jammu and Kashmir government. The tokens are issued three days before the selected Yatra date.
- Go to Saraswati Dham the next day for a medical checkup and formal registration.
- Visit the RFID card center in Jammu on the same day to collect your card and finish the process.

Amarnath Yatra 2025 Route
The Yatra offers two main routes for Amarnath Yatra, a longer and a shorter route.
Pahalgam Route: This is the longer route. It covers a distance of 32 km. It is a moderately difficult route.
Baltal Route: This is the shorter route and covers 15 km of distance. But this is considered highly difficult as it is steeper and hard to climb.

The visitors should strictly adhere to guidelines. They must avoid alcohol, smoking, and other caffeinated drinks during the Yatra. The board also advises everyone to be aware and alert about high-altitude sickness and not to ignore it.
