The Mumbai Police have registered a rape case against actor Ajaz Khan following a complaint filed by a 30-year-old woman, who alleged that he sexually assaulted her multiple times under the pretext of helping her secure roles in the film industry.

According to the complaint, Khan promised the woman opportunities in films and then allegedly raped her at several locations. The police have booked Khan under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) concerning rape. A formal investigation into the matter is currently underway.

This development comes just a day after Ajaz Khan was also named in a separate FIR related to alleged vulgar and obscene content in the web show House Arrest, streamed on the Ullu app.

The complaint in the House Arrest case was lodged by Gautam Ravriya, a Bajrang Dal activist, who accused Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others associated with the platform of promoting content that insults the modesty of women. The FIR cites provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

According to police officials, the action followed the circulation of a viral clip on social media in which Khan is seen allegedly pressuring contestants, including women, to perform intimate scenes and respond to vulgar questions.

Last week, BJP MLC Chitra Wagh also demanded a ban on the web series, calling it “the epitome of obscenity” and claiming that it promotes harmful content in society. Wagh said that clips from the show, now viral, are extremely offensive and degrade women.

Further action in both cases is pending as police continue their investigations.
