In view of the protest by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) outside the BJP HQ today against the arrest of its party leaders, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that entry and exit of ITO metro station will remain closed till further notice.
AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced on Saturday that he will go to Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters on the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in Delhi on Sunday at 12 pm with all the top leaders of his party. He challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to arrest all AAP leaders.
The development comes a day after Kejriwal’s former aide, Bibhav Kumar, was arrested by the Delhi Police in the assault case of AAP MP Swati Maliwal. To this, Kejriwal said that the Prime Minister is playing ‘Jail ka Khel’ with AAP.
In a video message shared by Kejriwal on Saturday, he said that the BJP is after AAP and one after another, they are putting AAP leaders behind bars. “They put me, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, and Sanjay Singh behind bars. Today, they put my PA in jail. Now they are saying they will put Raghav Chadha, Atishi, and Saurabh Bharadwaj in jail,” Kejriwal said.
Meanwhile, security has been heightened at the BJP headquarters.
The traffic police has also issued an advisory. “In view of the proposed protest by a political party at DDU Marg Delhi, Traffic will remain heavy at DDU Marg, IP Marg, Minto Road and Vikas Marg. DDU marg may be closed for traffic movement between 11 am to 2 pm. Kindly avoid these roads and plan your journey accordingly,” the traffic police in a post on X.
