AAP MP Swati Maliwal took to social media to express her frustration after her party faced a tough challenge in the ongoing election results. As the BJP maintained a commanding lead with 47 seats, well above the majority mark, Maliwal seemed to celebrate AAP’s struggles, writing, “Even Raavan’s ego was not spared…”
Her tweet implied that even the powerful figure of Raavan had to face consequences, drawing a parallel to Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership amid AAP’s electoral setback.
In another tweet, Maliwal, who has consistently raised concerns about Delhi’s issues during the election season, shared an image of Draupadi’s disrobing from the Mahabharata. This symbolic reference, often linked to betrayal and injustice, was posted without a caption, but the message appeared to be unmistakably clear.
During the election campaign, Maliwal extensively toured various parts of Delhi, drawing attention to public grievances while openly criticizing the AAP government. Even as the vote counting continues, she remains vocal in holding AAP accountable, with her latest post fueling speculation about internal discord within the party.
By 1 pm, with leads available for all 70 seats, the BJP stood at 47 seats, while AAP secured only 23. Despite the early results, AAP appeared to be narrowing the vote share gap as counting progressed, reducing it to 3.85 percent. BJP’s vote share stood at 47.02%, while AAP’s was at 43.17%, suggesting that the election might settle into a clear majority for the BJP.
