A blast was reported near the Mysuru Amba Vilas Palace on Thursday, leaving one person dead and several others injured, according to Indian Express.
Police suspect that the explosion may have been caused by helium-filled balloons commonly sold around the palace premise.
The blast occurred near the entrance of the Karnataka Exhibition Authority, police said.
According to officials, a large number of people were present at the exhibition site because of the Christmas vacation, which added to the chaos following the incident.
The Karnataka Exhibition Authority complex is located close to the Mysore Palace
