Sexual health and wellness startup Bold Care on Friday announced an undisclosed investment from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and roping him in as a co-owner of the company. “This is going to be an iconic partnership,” Bold Care CEO Rajat Jadhav said in a statement.
Launched in 2020, Bold Care is a platform offering products to solve issues faced by men such as sexual health, hair care and daily nutrition needs.
“I am pleased to come on board as the face and co-owner of Bold Care. Together, we are committed to normalising conversations about sexual health and wellness, a topic that traditionally comes with stigmas and taboos. People, especially men are misinformed and shy to seek help. With this, we are doing our bit to help to bring about a positive change in society,” Ranveer Singh said.
He added, “I have always felt that this category needs more of openness and acceptance in our society. That thought led to me endorsing a condom brand at a relatively early stage of my career.”
This is not the first association with a startup for Singh. In 2022, he had invested in the beauty startup Sugar Cosmetics. However, his wife and actress Deepika Padukone has invested in multiple startups through her investment arm KA Enterprises such as Atomberg Technologies, Epigamia, Blu Smart, Nua, Bellatrix Aerospace, etc.
“We have announced Ranveer (Singh) as the co-owner at Bold Care. His involvement over the past year has been nothing short of incredible, deeply engaging in every facet of our business. This is going to be an iconic partnership,” Jadhav said.
The India sexual wellness market size stood at $1,153.5 million in 2020, and is likely to reach $2,095.4 million by 2030, recording a compound annual growth rate of 5.8 per cent from 2021 to 2030, according to research firm Allied Market Research.
Among other startups in the sexual healthcare or wellness markets in India were MyMuse, Kindly Health, Sassiest, Sukham and others.
