Crypto and blockchain have emerged as the highest-paying industries, with crypto-related jobs doling out around 153 per cent more than other occupations, revealed a survey by crypto news platform NFTEvening. The survey analysing 1,169 jobs in the US related to crypto or blockchain noted that crypto salaries also surpass traditional tech roles by 46 per cent and AI roles by 16 per cent, indicating the sector’s appeal for top talent.
Position-wise, software engineers in crypto command some of the highest paychecks, with entry-level salaries starting at $124,462 and senior-level roles exceeding $217,000 annually. Region-wise New York stands out as the hub for high-paying positions, while California takes the lead in average wages, with professionals earning $184,945 per year.
The demand for skilled professionals in IT and engineering reflects the industry’s rapid growth and innovation. As blockchain and crypto technologies continue to integrate into mainstream industries, the need for talent is expected to rise further, providing lucrative opportunities for job seekers.
This also signals more than just competitive pay. It also indicates the growing significance of blockchain and cryptocurrency in reshaping financial systems, digital commerce, and other sectors.
Breaking down crypto roles in the job market, the survey noted that IT and engineering is the most desired role accounting for 43 per cent of job roles on LinkedIn followed by analysis and research (17.62 per cent), business development (10.35 per cent), marketing and communications (7.36 per cent), management operations (5.56 per cent), finance and accounting (4.11 per cent) and others.
By workplace, remote work is highly popular in the crypto industry, with 43.28 per cent of job postings allowing employees to work from home. These remote roles pay an average of $173,359.44, slightly less than hybrid roles at $175,642.56.
With significant advancements in technology and broader adoption of cryptocurrencies, the sector’s potential to generate high-paying roles is likely to expand. Experts believe that individuals considering a career pivot or upskilling in blockchain technologies could find themselves at the forefront of a financial revolution.
