Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the Chheda Nagar flyover in Mumbai on Saturday, designed to alleviate traffic congestion at the Chheda Nagar intersection on the Eastern Express Highway.

Additionally, during a visit on Friday, he highlighted the significance of the newly inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport, noting that it would be a boon for the local population.

“Navi Mumbai Airport will prove to be a boon for the people. Today C-295 successfully landed at Navi Mumbai Airport. The Airport will be named Lokneta DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport,” he said.

Shinde was aboard the aircraft during the test landing on the first runway of the state’s upcoming largest airport. Speaking about the milestone, he remarked, “This will be the largest airport, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, and today the first runway’s test landing has taken place.”

On September 22, CM Shinde highlighted the economic potential of Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), stating it could grow into a 1.5 trillion-dollar economy. During a conference at the Thane Vikas Parishad, he emphasized the significance of the event, noting it was the first of such scale held in Thane.

Shinde further shared insights from his meeting with NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, who recommended focusing on eight key sectors to help achieve this ambitious economic goal. “Mumbai and MMR have a potential of 1.5 trillion. Niti Ayog has suggested 8 sectors. By working on it, we can achieve 1.5 trillion,” Shinde said.

Simultaneously, the Shinde administration continues to drive various infrastructure and development projects across Maharashtra.
Earlier on September 22, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region had the potential to become a 1.5 trillion dollar economy.

Addressing a conference at the Thane Vikas Parishad, Shinde stated that this was the first time such a big conference had been held in Thane.
