To address traffic congestion, the stretch connecting Sujan Mohinder Road to Mathura Road, via the New Friends Colony police station, has been designated as a one-way route for all vehicles, The Indian Express reported.
The directive, issued by S.K. Singh, DCP (Traffic), on November 18, requires road-owning and maintenance agencies to install proper signboards to inform commuters.
Police officials announced on Tuesday that the decision, effective immediately, is aimed at managing the heavy traffic flow that has been disrupting movement and causing inconvenience to both motorists and pedestrians. The regulation of traffic on the lane is essential to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles while prioritizing the convenience and safety of motorists and other road users, the statement said.
As per the new rule, vehicles will only be permitted to travel from Sujan Mohinder Road towards Mathura Road until further notice.
