Indian Railway has one of the most extensive railway networks globally and its tracks passes through some of the most picturesque landscapes. The national transporter has time and again posted images of Vande Bharat Express traversing breathtaking landscapes.
The Ministry of Railways on Wednesday (January 3) again shared a photograph of the Solapur-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express journeying through Bhor Ghat. The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains marked a transformative era in rail travel, offering passengers a more congenial journey and redefining the experience of traveling in the country.
The image shows the semi-high speed train passing via the wilderness of the Bhor Ghat on the Mumbai-Pune route. “Under the fleecy cloud, Solapur-Mumbai #VandeBharat Express chisels through the terrain of Monkey Hill in Bhor Ghat on Mumbai-Pune route in Maharashtra.,” the Rail ministry said in the tweet.
All about Solapur-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express
Launched on February 11, 2023, the Solapur-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express is the ninth in the country’s fleet of Vande Bharat Express trains. This semi-high-speed rail service has significantly improved connectivity between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Solapur.
Operating in a distinctive blue and white livery, the train shuttles between Mumbai and Solapur. Covering a distance of 455 kilometers in 6 hours and 35 minutes, the 16-coach express achieves an average speed ranging from 69.15 to 70 km/hour.
The journey includes stops at key stations such as Dadar, Kalyan, Pune, and Kurduwadi. The train operates six days a week, excluding Wednesdays from CSMT and Thursdays from Solapur, contributing to a more efficient and accessible rail network in the region.
