The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is set to operate Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist train for the upcoming ‘North East Discovery’ tour package. The fourteen nights and 15 days journey will commence on November 16, 2023 from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. It will conclude on December 01, 2023.
During its journey, the train will cover five states. These are – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. However, the boarding and deboarding of passengers is available at a few selected stations. These are – Delhi Safdarjung, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Kanpur and Lucknow.
List of places to visit:-
The passengers will be able to visit the following tourist places. These are:
- Assam – Kamakhya Temple, Brahmaputra River, Umananda Temple at Guwahati, Tea estates at Jorhat, Kaziranga National Park
- Itanagar – Gompa Buddhist temple and Theravada Buddhist temple
- Sibsagar – Shiva Temple, Ahom palaces and monuments
- Tripura – Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal and Tripura Sundari
- Kohima – Khonoma Village, War Cemetery and Cathedral Church
- Shillong – Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park and Ward’s Lake
- Cherrapunji – Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Nawkhalikai falls and Mawsmai Caves
Seats:-
A total of 204 passengers will be accommodated on this tourist train. The train has four types of class – AC I Coupe (24), AC I Cabin (48), 2 AC Class (48) and 3AC (84).
Fare:-
The price of this rail tour package starts at Rs 87755 per passenger for 3rd AC. The fare for 2 AC Class and 1 AC Cabin are Rs 135045 and Rs 142310 per passenger respectively.
