Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the promising vision of ‘Namo Bharat’ on Friday, proclaiming it to be a sneak peek into the future of India. With a resolute commitment to transforming the entire national railway system over the next decade, the Prime Minister marked this ambitious stride toward progress. The ‘Namo Bharat’ initiative is set to create a web of connectivity, extending its reach to regions such as Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

Impressively, the train boasts a noise level lower than that of an airplane, embodying a symbol of India’s renewed ambitions. Prime Minister Modi described this occasion as a historic moment for the entire nation, underlining its significance. The PM inaugurated the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor at the Sahibabad RapidX station. During the ceremony, he flagged off India’s first RapidX train, aptly named ‘Namo Bharat,’ which will connect Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, marking the launch of the RRTS in India.

Reflecting on the event, the Prime Minister recalled laying the foundation stone for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor four years ago and was gratified to witness its operationalization on the Sahibabad to Duhai Depot route. He emphasized the government’s steadfast commitment to inaugurating projects with laid foundation stones, expressing confidence in his presence for the inauguration of the Meerut stretch of RRTS in a year and a half.

Modi celebrated the ‘Namo Bharat’ train for its modernity and speed, acknowledging that it embodies the spirit of a new and resolute India. He stressed the crucial role of state development in the nation’s overall progress. Furthermore, he lauded the inauguration of two metro lines in Bengaluru on the same day, which enhances connectivity in the IT hub, benefiting nearly 800,000 daily commuters. The Prime Minister extended his felicitations to the people of Bengaluru for this significant addition to their transportation infrastructure.

Highlighting India’s progress on the global stage, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that today’s India is renowned for launching 5G and facilitating its access across the country. He underscored India’s leadership in conducting the highest number of digital transactions worldwide and assured the youth of today that, by the end of the decade, Indian trains would be unsurpassed globally.

To inaugurate the journey of ‘Namo Bharat,’ Prime Minister Modi made the first ticket purchase by scanning a QR code from his mobile device, engaging with students and train staff during the ride. His journey aboard the ‘Namo Train’ concluded at Vasundhara Sector-8, where he was joined by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandi Ben Patel, and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
