Western Railway has announced a major block of six and a half hours between Goregaon and Kandivali stations to facilitate the construction of the 6th line. The block will be enforced from 11:00 PM on September 23rd to 5:30 AM on September 24th, 2024, during which several suburban train services will be impacted.

According to a tweet from Western Railways, this construction is essential for ongoing infrastructure developments, and as a result, certain local trains will either be partially cancelled or short-terminated. Commuters are advised to take note of the following changes:

Partially Cancelled/Short Terminated Trains

  • Churchgate-Borivali local (90979), departing from Churchgate at 10:24 PM on September 23rd, will short-terminate at Malad.
  • Virar-Andheri Fast AC local (94078), departing from Virar at 10:44 PM on September 23rd, will short-terminate at Borivali.
  • Andheri-Bhayandar Fast AC local (94079), departing from Andheri at 11:55 PM on September 23rd, will short-originate from Borivali at 11:25 PM.
  • Bandra-Borivali local (90001), departing from Bandra at 4:05 AM on September 24th, will short-terminate at Goregaon. This service will then run as an extra slow local to Churchgate, departing from Goregaon at 4:38 AM.
  • Borivali-Virar local (92035), departing from Borivali at 8:12 AM on September 24th, will short-terminate at Nallasopara.
  • Virar-Borivali Slow local (90294), departing from Virar at 9:05 AM on September 24th, will operate up to Churchgate, running on a fast mode between Borivali, Andheri, Bandra, Dadar, and Mumbai Central.
