About the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor

The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) is an under-construction high-speed rail line connecting Mumbai, India’s financial hub, with Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat. Construction commenced in April 2020, and the 352 km section through Gujarat is projected to be fully operational by 2027.

The first segment, a 50 km stretch from Surat to Bilimora, is anticipated to open in August 2026, while the remaining section to Mumbai is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
