The Mangaluru-Madgaon Goa Vande Bharat Express train was among the six Vande Bharat Express trains which Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off virtually from ASyodhya on Saturday (December 30). This Vande Bharat Express was given a grand welcome when it arrived at Madgaon station in Goa from Mangaluru yesterday. 

The eight-carriage train concluded a journey lasting four and a half hours, arriving at its destination approximately at 4:15 pm. Among the initial group of passengers were schoolchildren.

This semi-high speed express train between Mangaluru and Madgaon will run six days a week except on Thursdays.

According to the provisional timetable, the Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to leave Mangaluru Central at 8:30 am and arrive at Madgaon in Goa by 1:05 pm. Subsequently, the same train is set to depart Madgaon at 6:10 pm, reaching Mangaluru Central by 10:45 pm. Overnight, the train will make a stop at the revamped pit line in Mangaluru Central.

The Mangaluru-Madgaon Goa Vande Bharat Express train halts at several key stations, including Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Hosur, and Bengaluru Cantonment. 

Mangaluru-Madgaon Goa Vande Bharat to boost connectivity 

“The launch of Vande Bharat Express between Mangaluru and Madgaon stations begins a new chapter in connectivity between Karnataka and Goa,” said Rajya Sabha member Sadanand Shet Tanavade. The train will also help the tourism sector in the two states.
