Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw embarked on a three-day visit to Bhubaneswar on Friday (January 5). In a significant effort to develop Odisha’s rail infrastructure, the Railway Minister is set to inaugurate crucial rail projects and the ceremonial flagging off of four trains on Saturday (January 6), highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and accessibility.
Inauguration of rail projects
A focal point of Vaishnaw’s visit is the inauguration of the Nuagaon-Daspalla section of the Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project. This particular section is a vital link that contributes to the expansion and efficiency of the rail network in the region.
Additionally, the minister will unveil the newly constructed Daspalla Railway Station building, a testament to the ongoing efforts to enhance passenger facilities and infrastructure.
Flagging off new trains
On Saturday, Vaishnaw is also set to flag off four trains. The Bhubaneswar-Nayagarh Town Express, Bhubaneswar-Nuagaon Road Passenger Special, Puri-Nuagaon Road Passenger Special, and the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town MEMU train are the new additions that promise to improve accessibility for passengers and boost economic activities along these routes.
The officials also informed that the Railway Minister is also slated to participate in programmes of the railways and the postal department during his stay.
The newly inaugurated projects and flagged-off trains are expected to have a positive impact on connectivity and accessibility in the state.
