Three passenger trains have been cancelled following the derailment of a freight train in the Chakradharpur rail division of the South Eastern Railway (SER) Zone on Monday, a railway spokesperson confirmed.
“Though the derailment hasn’t caused any injury to anyone, it has affected the train operations as it has blocked the concerned lines for the movement of other trains,” he added.
As a result of the incident, the following train services have been affected:
- Cancelled Trains:
- Tatanagar-Hatia Express
- Tatanagar-Barkakana Passenger
- Barkakana-Tatanagar Passenger
Additionally, the Tatanagar-Dhanbad Express has been rescheduled to leave Tatanagar at 7:30 PM instead of its original departure time of 3:30 PM on Monday.
“Another train, Santragachi-Anand Vihar Express, will run on a diverted route via Kharagpur-Midnapore-Adra-Purulia,” the spokesperson stated.
Passengers are advised to check for updates regarding their train schedules and to plan their journeys accordingly. The railway authorities are working to clear the affected lines to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
