The redevelopment of the Latur Railway station in Maharashtra is covered under the government’s ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’. The initiative is set to transform and breathe new life into 1309 railway stations across India.
On Friday, the Indian Railways took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a glimpse of what the Latur Railway station would look like after its redevelopment. Sharing a glimpse of the proposed design of the station, adding, “Upon completion, it will ease the travel experience for passengers.”
The Railway Ministry also gave an update on the work which is in progress at the station. Presently, the waiting hall is being renovated at the station along with the boundary wall in the circulating area and the construction of the entrance step.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 6, 2023, is poised to rejuvenate and modernize 1309 railway stations throughout the country. This initiative aims to rejuvenate travel hubs, elevating the overall passenger experience, and envisions the ongoing, long-term development of these stations.
Under this scheme, 76 stations of the Central Railway will be upgraded or redeveloped. The Solapur division will see railway stations in Solapur, Kalburgi, Daund, Pandharpur, Wadi, Kurduwadi, Ahmednagar, Kopargaon, Latur, Shahabad, Belapur, Gangapur road, Dudhani, Osmanabad and Jeur.
