If it involves Shah Rukh Khan, it has to be king-sized. And the launch event of a premium commercial tower in Dubai named after the Bollywood superstar turned out to be just that.
The actor, along with Rizwan Sajan, Founder & Chairman of city-based realty developer Danube Group, recently launched SHAHRUKHZ by Danube — an ultra-luxurious 55-storey office tower — at a packed Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, with over 6,000 guests in attendance.
Speaking at the gala, Sajan announced that the project, which the company said was the first in the world to be named after a celebrity, was a soldout, raking in Rs 5,000 crore on launch day. “This overwhelming response is a clear reflection of the project’s unmatched value – from its prime location to its world-class amenities and thoughtfully crafted design inspired by global luxury standards,” the founder & chairman of Danube, one of Dubai’s largest realty developers, said.
Comprising 488 units with prices starting at Rs 4.9 crore, the tower boasts of over 35 world-class amenities, including a sky pool, a dedicated helipad for air taxis, and exclusive executive lounges. The project, developed at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore, is expected to be completed by 2029.
“To see a project of this scale carry my name is both an honour and a reminder of how generosity and vision can come together. Dubai is a city built on the belief that nothing is impossible. This project reflects that very spirit,” the Bollywood actor said.
Asked about why the company chose to name a project after Shah Rukh, Sajan, who made his humble beginnings at a Mumbai chawl, said: “Shah Rukh Khan and Danube share a parallel journey, both starting modestly more than three decades ago. Shah Rukh transformed his dreams into a global legacy, a philosophy that resonates deeply with our growth at Danube.”
Known for its 1% payment plan, Danube Properties is the second-largest Indian realty developer in Dubai and reportedly sees nearly 25-30% of its sales coming from Indian buyers. The company expects demand for both residential and commercial real estate in Dubai to grow at a rapid pace, with Indians continuing to be a significant buyer group.
Since its inception, the realty player has launched 41 projects in Dubai till date, with 20 successfully delivered and the remaining in advanced stages of construction.
