Foreigners who want to live, study, work and settle in the United Arab Emirates can make use of the UAE Golden visa to get a long-term residency without the need for a sponsor within the country.
Two important things are important to know about the UAE Golden visa – One, it provides for a long-term residency for a period of five to ten years, and second, there is an online nomination-based process.
“UAE Golden Visa by nomination is only for people who meet the criteria laid down by the UAE Govt. – It’s not open to all. You can’t just pay fees and get a Golden Visa. It is valid for 10 years and may be renewed thereafter and does not lead to Citizenship in UAE,” says Paresh Karia, CEO, Acquest Advisors.
There is a process laid out for applying for golden residency on the UAE government’s website, called ‘Visa-Golden Residence-Nomination Request For Golden Residence-New Request’.
Nomination-based process
Under the UAE’s Golden Visa framework, the nomination-based process is an existing format.
One has to click on it to start submitting the nomination request to UAE authorities.
The dropdown shows these categories –
- High School Top-Ranked Students in UAE,
- Graduates of Accredited Universities in UAE,
- Graduates of Accredited Universities Outside UAE,
- Scientists and Specialists and Humanitarian Pioneers.
The applicant can obtain the nomination service for the golden visa in simple and easy steps. The process begins by applying the authority’s platform, filling in the data, and attaching the required documents, and paying the service fees in a secure electronic way.
This service allows the issuance of the golden residency, which includes the following categories like Outstanding Specialized Talents, Scientists and Specialists, Investors in Public Investments, Real Estate Investors, Entrepreneurs, High School Top-Ranked Students in UAE, Graduates of Accredited Universities in UAE, Graduates of Accredited Universities Outside UAE and the Frontline Workers.
Requirements
Once the details are submitted, they are processed by the UAE authorities and a communication is made through email to the applicant. According to the website, E-Services Fees is 28.00 AED, ICP Fees is 22.00 AED and Smart Services Fee is 100.00 AED. The service fees may vary depending on the data entered in the application.
“There are various components of fees which include Visa Fees, Emirates ID Fees, Medical Fees, File Opening Fees, PRO fees (if services required) etc. Also, if you are using the services of a consultant to complete your application, you will have to pay professional fees for the same,” says Karia.
Candidates must fulfill certain requirements, such as professional achievements, salary levels, or recognition in domains like science, education, entrepreneurship, or digital content creation, in order to be eligible. UAE Golden visa is selectively granted and subject to approval by the UAE authorities.
The Golden visa, also known as the long-term residency visa, is not limited to foreign investors who make financial investments in the nation. Entrepreneurs who manage economic projects, gifted individuals, leaders in various scientific, intellectual, or athletic domains, and exceptional high school or university graduates are also eligible to apply for the UAE Golden Visa.
