Indians travelling to popular destinations like the UAE, UK, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa, Egypt, Hong Kong, Georgia, Oman, Morocco, Qatar, Kenya, and Taiwan, among others, now have the option to apply for visas for just Rs 1.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Atlys is launching the country’s first-ever visa sale: “Atlys One Way Out.”

For select countries like the UK, UAE, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Africa, Hong Kong, Georgia, among others, will be Re 1. Atlys will cover all charges – including the government fees as well as the service fees on behalf of the applicant during the sale period.

What’s on Offer

The company’s website says – The offer may either fully cover both Atlys service fees and government charges, in the case of e-Visa destinations that do not require physical passport submission, or cover only the Atlys service fee for in-person visa processes, with a special exception for select countries such as the United Kingdom.

The offer applies to select destinations listed on the Atlys website. For e-Visa countries, both service and government fees may be covered. For in-person visa destinations, the offer applies only to Atlys service fees unless explicitly stated otherwise (for example, UK applications are fully covered as a special inclusion).

The visa processing platform will go live with the sale exclusively on the Atlys website for two days: August 4th and 5th.

During the two-day sale, additionally, appointment bookings for countries requiring in-person visits, such as the United States and select Schengen nations, will also be available at just Rs 1.

For United States and Schengen countries, the Rs 1 pricing includes only the Atlys service fee and appointment booking fee. All government charges, including visa fees and biometric costs, have to be paid directly by the applicant.

Rs 1 Visa Sale

One needs to upload a valid Indian passport, a passport-size photograph and any required supporting documents, for example, financial proofs or travel bookings, as mandated by the destination country’s consulate or embassy.

Indian applicants collectively lost over Rs 664 crore in non-refundable visa fees across various countries in 2024 alone, according to a report by the European Commission and Condé Nast Traveller.

In the last 60 days, Atlys has seen a rise in search inquiries across a wide range of destinations, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Georgia, the United Kingdom, and the UAE, with growth rates ranging from 18% to 44% compared to the previous period.

This impetus has predominantly come from users in tier 1 and tier 2 cities, fueled primarily by Generation Z and millennials. Surprisingly, a large percentage of this growing interest comes from first-time travelers.
