Mumbai Metro Line 3 Fare Concession: In a step to encourage public transport for differently-abled passengers, the Mumbai Metro has now introduced a 25 per cent concession in fares for them, starting Sunday (Nov 23) for Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line). The operating authority of the metro, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL), said the step is in its commitment to ensure an accessible and inclusive transit system for all commuters, including persons with disabilities (PwDs).

The MMRCL said the technical integration in the ticketing system has been done for implementing the fare concession, which is in its final phase and progressing as planned.

Where to book discounted tickets?

The MMRCL said that it has activated the discounted tickets and trip passes for differently-abled passengers on the MetroConnect-3 app. The officials said that the update is currently available only for iOS users, as it is still awaiting approval from Google. They said once the update is approved, Android users can access the discount, reported Free Press Journal.

Last month, the Mumbai Metro-3 took to its social media and said, “In a step towards inclusive mobility, #MMRC has planned to offer a 25% discount on Monthly Trip Passes on Metro Line-3 for differently-abled passengers. This facility will be effective after about 10 days, post ticketing system updates.”

Mumbai metro 3 prices range from Rs 10 to Rs 70.
