India’s First semi-high speed rail service, Vande Bharat marks a major milestone as more than two crores people have boarded it till March 31 since its inception, PTI reported. The first two Vande Bharat trains were inaugurated between Delhi to Varanasi in the year 2019, as per officials. The trains are specially designed indigenously by the Indian Railways and has provided a seamless travel experience to its passengers.

Indian Railways also observed 171 years of its existence on Monday as the first train which flagged off was between Mumbai to Thane on this day in the year 1853. According to the officials, Indian Railways’ journey till now has been extraordinary and its presence has reached to almost every far and wide places.

Vande Bharat’s current status:

Vande Bharat trains which are widely known for its high speed, safety standards and world class services have now expanded on 100 more routes, covering 24 states, union territories and 284 districts in total as per the report shared by the Indian Railways. The miles covered by Vande Bharat trains till now is similar to revolving around the planet Earth around 310 times.

The national operator’s boost of providing services to passengers similar to aircraft style comfort in Vande Bharat trains. Since its launch, Indian Railways Made In India initiative has gained tremendous popularity amongst youngsters, as per Railway officials.

‘’I think commuters are liking Vande Bharat’s high speed, sound proof coaches, pantry services, big transparent window view through which one can enjoy the natural beauty, wifi services, GPS built information systems’’, added a Railway official, reported PTI.

Vande Bharat’s future expansion plans: 

Indian Railways is planning to introduce more Vande Bharat trains and will come up with a sleeper version of this new age train which operates on distributed power technology. Passengers will very soon be able to enjoy the Vande Bharat sleeper version and it will be a totally new experience specially for the commuters of the longer routes, as mentioned by the official.
