The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced the construction of a new administrative building at an estimated cost of Rs 727 crore, located in the home turf of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The project will feature a 32-floor office block, a 5-storey ‘Mahasabha’ building, and two basement parking levels, according to a TMC official.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the project during his recent visit to the city. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to centralise various municipal offices, making it easier for citizens to access civic services.
Once completed, the new building is expected to improve administrative efficiency and provide maximum benefits to the residents of Thane by consolidating civic operations under one roof. The TMC official emphasised that the facility will significantly streamline operations and improve service delivery to the public. The ambitious project is a key part of the city’s ongoing infrastructure development efforts and reflects the growing importance of Thane in Maharashtra’s urban landscape.
With the construction of this modern administrative hub, Thane aims to further enhance its civic infrastructure, aligning with its vision of becoming a more citizen-friendly city.
