In response to the anticipated surge in passengers during the Ganeshotsav celebrations, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has announced significant enhancements to Metro services on Lines 2A and 7. Starting September 11, an additional 20 trips will be introduced to accommodate the increased demand, according to media reports.

Enhanced Services on Key Routes

The additional services will span key routes between Dahisar and Andheri, ensuring that festival-goers have access to efficient and safe travel options. MMMOCL Managing Director Rubal Agarwal emphasized that these enhancements are aimed at easing congestion and improving the overall travel experience during the festive period.

To further support the influx of passengers, the last Metro trains from Andheri (West) and Gundavali terminals will run 30 minutes later than usual. The final trains will depart at 11:15 pm and 11:30 pm from these terminals. Extended services will also be available on the routes between Gundavali and Dahisar (East) and Andheri (West) and Dahisar (East), resulting in a total of 20 additional trips.

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Commissioner of MMRDA and Chairman of MMMOCL, highlighted that these measures are part of the effort to ensure smooth and convenient travel for all passengers during the Ganeshotsav festivities.
