The Kolkata Metro has announced a revised schedule for its services on August 26 (Monday) in view of the Janmashtami celebrations. According to a statement issued by Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Kolkata Metro, there will be adjustments to the number of daily services on the Blue Line, Green Line-1, and Green Line-2.
The metro will operate 234 services on the Blue Line, 90 services on Green Line-1, and 122 services on Green Line-2 for the convenience of the passengers. Meanwhile, normal services will continue uninterrupted on the Purple Line and Orange Line throughout the day.
Metro frequency reduced on Blue Line
On Janmashtami, the Blue Line will operate 234 services (117 UP + 117 DN) instead of the usual 288. The first train will depart at 06:50 hrs from Dumdum to Kavi Subhash and from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineswar. The last services will be at 21:28 hrs from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash, and at 21:30 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineswar.
Additionally, special night metro services will be available from Kavi Subhash and Dumdum stations at 22:40 hrs, as per the regular schedule.
Green Line-1 services adjustments
Green Line-1 will see 90 services (45 Eastbound + 45 Westbound) on the day, down from the standard 106. The first service will commence at 06:55 hrs from Sealdah to Salt Lake Sector V, with the last service departing at 21:35 hrs from Sealdah to Salt Lake Sector V.
Only 122 train services on Green Line-2
Green Line-2 will run 122 services (61 Eastbound + 61 Westbound), reduced from the usual 130. The first trains will start at 07:00 hrs from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade and vice versa. The last services will be at 21:45 hrs from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade and from Esplanade to Howrah Maidan.
