Metro Railway Kolkata has revealed an extensive service plan for Durga Puja 2025, ensuring seamless travel for pandal hoppers across the city. Special night-long operations have been announced on the Blue Line and Green Line during Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, with trains running in the early morning hours. Additional services will also be available on the Yellow and Purple lines, making travel convenient during the festive rush, as per official notification by Metro Railway, Kolkata.

Extended services on Blue and Green Lines

On Panchami (September 27), Blue Line commuters can use 262 services, whereas on Sasthi (September 28), 246 trains will operate between 9 am and 11 pm. The highlight, however, comes on Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami (September 29 to October 1), when 246 services will run daily from 1 pm until  4 am the next morning. During the peak hour, frequency will be between 6 and 7 minutes.

Green Line services will also be available beyond midnight during these days, offering 192 services daily between 1:30 pm and 4:18 am. On Panchami and Sasthi, the Green Line will operate from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm with a 6-8 minute interval.

Yellow and Purple line schedules

Yellow Line will also be offering 60 services on Panchami and Sasthi from 3 pm to 10:30 pm, whereas, on Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, 62 trains will be available till 10:50 pm. On the day of Dashami (October 2), 50 services will run with a frequency of 15 minutes.

Purple Line will be providing 38 daily services for the commuters between Joka and Majerhat from Panchami to Dashami. Trains will be available from 3 pm to 10:55 pm in 25-minute intervals.

Meanwhile, no services will be running on the Orange Line during the Puja week.

To manage the rush, the Metro authority has encouraged commuters to use Smart Cards, Aamar Kolkata Metro App for availing QR-based mobile tickets and Tourist Cards. Paper QR tickets will also be issued at select stations. Tourist Smart Cards with unlimited 3-5 days travel options are being promoted for easy access. Officials have appealed to the passengers not to overcrowd trains or block doors, and also given assurances that regular services will be available at short intervals.
