The Delhi Metro on Tuesday (August 13) achieved its highest-ever daily passenger count, reaching 72.38 lakh journeys, according to officials. This milestone surpasses the previous record set in February of this year.
The total number of passengers on August 13 was 72,38,271, exceeding earlier figures of 71.09 lakh on February 13, 71.07 lakh on August 12, 71.04 lakh on September 4, 2023, and 70.88 lakh on February 12.
Journey or line utilisation, which measures the number of corridors passengers use to reach their destinations, reflects the metro’s extensive network.
DMRC operates 393 km network with 288 stations
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) currently operates a network spanning nearly 393 km with 288 stations, including the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor and Rapid Metro in Gurugram.
In a social media post on X, the DMRC announced, “The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recorded its highest-ever passenger journeys on Tuesday (August 13) with 72.38 lakh passenger journeys being performed across the network.”
