The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that the services on a section of Delhi Metro’s Blue Line will be temporarily unavailable on Sunday morning due to scheduled maintenance work.
DMRC took to X, formerly Twitter, to say that the maintenance work is set to occur during the intervening night of November 4 and 5. As a result, the train services from Karol Bagh to Rajiv Chowk will be unavailable until 6 am on November 5. It added that the Jhandewalan and Rama Krishna Ashram Marg Metro stations, which lie in this section, will remain closed until 6 am, saying that the services will commence from 6 am onwards.
In its tweet, the DMRC said that the services from Dwarka Sec-21 to Karol Bagh, and Rajiv Chowk to Noida City Centre/Vaishali will continue as per usual during this period. “Train services in Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City section will start at 8AM as per the routine Sunday time table,” it added.
Regular announcements will be at stations and within trains to keep the commuters informed about the service regulation. Additionally, extra staff will be put in place to help the passengers.
Delhi Metro runs additional trips amid pollution concerns
Amid the rising concerns surrounding the air pollution in Delhi-NCR, the DMRC has decided to run additional 20 train trips on its network, starting November 3. The news came following the implementation of GRAP-III to address pollution.
The Delhi Metro had already initiated 40 extra trips on weekdays since October 25 when the GRAP-II stage came into effect. With the DMRC’s latest decision, it will now be operating 60 additional trips.
