Delhi Metro is going the extra mile for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023! How, you ask? Well, there are several World Cup matches that will be held at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Keeping this in mind, the Delhi Metro has announced plans to extend its services and take extra trips to ensure a seamless commute for cricket lovers! How exciting is that?
Now let’s give you a clear outline of the timings and trips that the Delhi Metro will be taking in the coming days.
Change in Last Metro’s Timings
To facilitate the movement of spectators attending the day and night matches scheduled for October 7th, 11th, 15th, 25th, and November 6th, 2023, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (also known as Feroz Shah Kotla Grounds) in New Delhi, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has extended its last train timings by about 30 minutes. This change applies to all metro lines except the Airport Express Line.
How does Delhi Metro plan to accommodate the rush?
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is conveniently located adjacent to the Delhi Gate Metro station, which falls on the Violet Line, running from Kashmere Gate station to Raja Nahar Singh station.
To accommodate the post-match rush, Delhi Metro will provide additional train trips, which will be approximately 24 extra trips in total. These services will extend the last train timings by approximately 30 minutes across all metro lines. This extension aims to ensure that spectators can smoothly reach their destinations using the metro system.
Enhanced Services for Delhi Metro Commuters
To further enhance the commuting experience, the DMRC will deploy additional personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) at the Delhi Gate Metro station on match days. This measure is designed to manage the anticipated surge in spectators.
Further Adjustments in Train Timings
It’s worth noting that the last train timings may be subject to further adjustments based on match requirements. Commuters planning to attend the World Cup matches are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated with the latest information provided by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
As cricket enthusiasts gear up to witness the thrilling World Cup matches, the Delhi Metro is committed to ensuring a convenient and efficient transportation experience for all. So, gear up cricket lovers!
