The Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) on Monday (April 8) announced that the technical glitch on its website and mobile app has been rectified and the online ticketing is now operational. Earlier, CMRL had advised passengers to purchase tickets from metro station counters in view of the technical glitch. 

“Online ticketing including the CMRL mobile app are now working. All ticketing modes including Singara Chennai Card, CMRL Travel Cards are working normally. CMRL regrets the inconvenience caused,” the CMRL said in a tweet. 

Chennai Metro online ticketing system down 

The passengers travelling via Chennai metro today faced disruptions as they were not able to book their tickets online. The Chennai metro officials took notice of the issue and rectified the same within an hour. 

Chennai metro in a tweet posted at 7.49 am had said, “Due to technical issue, Online ticketing including mobile app are not presently working. Passengers are requested to purchase tickets from metro Station counters. Rectification works are in progress. CMRL regrets the inconvenience caused. Further information will be updated soon.”
